What Do I Do Next?
Here you will find a few things to keep in mind prior to your session. These answers will help you prepare the best you can before we get together to capture those precious moments!
How do i pick a location?
Once you've received and signed a contract as well as paid your retainer to Love Mack Photography LLC you are fully booked and your session date is secure!
You will receive a contract first and once that is signed, an invoice will be sent to the same email!
Once both of those are taken care of a questionnaire will be sent your way to fill out before your session - the more information, the better!
how do i know i'm fully booked for my session?
I want my clients to feel comfortable in their photos and that includes choosing locations that speak to you personally! I have suggestions with set travel fees attached but I always want to hear your thoughts on places as well.
Choosing a location should not feel like a pressure to make, I am always open to talking over what you want for a feel / look for your photos and helping you find a location to best suit that vision!

what if im not ready to book yet?
That is absolutely no problem at all! If you want to set up a time to meet either in person or virtually we can get that worked out.
If I'm expected to travel out of Ames, IA for a consultation there will be a travel fee I have to charge - I wish I didn't but these gas prices cannot allow me not to anymore *sigh*
I want you to feel comfortable before signing contracts and paying retainers, so if you want to discuss further questions before finalizing a booking, I am more than willing to accomodate where I can!

This answer varys on type of sessions and the time of year to be frank.
MY TURNAROUND GOAL: 2-4 weeks (regular sessions), 2-3 months (event + wedding coverage)
DURING BUSY SEASON: 6-8 weeks (regular sessions), 4-6 months (event + wedding coverage)
This is starting August 1, 2026 - Currently playing catch up on galleries due to a mental health break this summer.
What is your turnaround time?

I would love to provide this for my clients however I take a lot of time on each individual photo focusing on all sorts of 'minor' details that make my work, well just that, my work.
I do offer the option to select 5 picks from your sessions to have returned within a week of your session. This ensures I have time to focus on those details and you get something in return before getting back your finalized gallery!
Are we able to get sneak peeks day of or day after our session?

As many that are worth returning! This means any photo that is in good condition - eyes open, not blurry (unless intentional), not a duplicate, good lighting, etc. - is returned to you in your gallery!
I do not restrict to a specific amount of photos returned but my minimum for standard sessions is 50 photos returned in your personalized gallery.

CLOTHING
Try to keep outfits color cohesive and avoid chaotic patterns but overall keep it comfortable! The more comfortable you are, the more natural your session will go. Keeping to a personally picked color palette and avoiding overwhelming patterns will help the editing process go smoother on my end!
Create a board dedicated to the overall feel and photos inspiration for your session! Please keep in mind that we're looking at poses and prompts more so than editing style - my editing style has already been curated to best showcase my creative work and style.
LOCATION
When choosing a location, pick a spot that not only gets the vibe that you want to capture but also a spot that feels comfortable for you. I will do my best to scout areas when they are chosen for bookings but you also need to do some digging on preferred locations to ensure it is exactly what you are wanting!
